Clients say that they chose to work with me because I am highly professional and personable but also because I’ve lived and worked in “the real world”. What that means is “I understand where you are coming from and the challenges you face as busy leaders operating in a complex world.” Individual clients are often wanting a safe space to explore a new direction or challenge , whilst business leaders and  organisations want balance between resilience, change and complexity. Therefore my approach is always flexible, realistic and designed to give you space to think and re-focus.

Over my career I’ve learnt what makes the difference, not just from theory and qualifications, but from over 25 years of direct experience in high pressure, frontline, training and leadership roles at local and National level. I commuted   2 hours a day (on a good run), I have worked shifts and worked away from home. I’ve had jobs that I have loathed and discovered how to find ones I love. I’ve had poor managers and I’ve had great ones; I’ve been a poor manager and learnt to become a great leader. I’ve worked in dysfunctional teams and I have created Award winning ones. I’ve experienced the loneliness of leadership and the buzz of the boardroom. I’ve lost hours of my life to ineffective meetings and poorly planned training and I’ve worked in organisations in a perpetual state of budget cuts and “transformation”. This is why I’m so passionate about helping you to get off the “hamster wheel” and through professional curiosity support you to ask the right questions to find the right answers.

Throughout my career I have held a passion and track record for providing excellent leadership, training and development. I’m a qualified trainer, facilitator and executive coach and now use my experience to help individuals and organisations gain deeper insight about what they want and how to get there. I utilise active listening and  professional curiosity to enable clients to explore and understand the systems they work in to turn confusion into clarity.  I create realistic, supportive, tailor made approaches at inspiring places to bring fresh perspectives through training, facilitation and coaching. I regularly travel with my work across the UK – particularly the South West, Midlands and Wales. Individual clients and small groups wanting headspace for a day or overnight stay are able to come to me. I live just outside the stunning city of Wells in Somerset, UK overlooking the Mendip hills. I enjoy managing my smallholding and producing apple juice and cider from our orchards. I have a love of Gloucester Old Spot pigs, cottage garden flowers, baking bread and holidaying in our VW T4 campervan called “Winnie”. I have a strong sense of community. As part of my Lay Leadership I run Sunday Breakfast in the village hall each month as a community connection point.
